Vogt Confirms 2027 Return as Guardians Manager

Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said he will return in 2027, dismissing speculation that he might take the Seattle Mariners’ vacant job; Seattle has not contacted him. Vogt is under contract beyond this season, and the Guardians expressed confidence he will remain with the team long term. He has led Cleveland to three straight AL Central titles and two AL Championship Series appearances, including this season’s six-game loss to Tampa Bay. Vogt said time away from his wife and children in Olympia, Washington, is difficult, but the family has chosen not to relocate while the children are in school. Cleveland plans to address its pitching and offense this offseason, and pitching coach Carl Willis is set to return.
