Cole Kmet to Miss Season With Knee Injury
Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will miss the rest of the season with a serious right knee injury sustained late in Thursday’s 30-24 win over the New England Patriots, and he is expected to be placed on injured reserve. He was carted off after an eight-yard catch and tackle, and Friday testing confirmed the injury. Kmet had 10 catches for 87 yards and a touchdown this season and was a team leader and key blocker in Chicago’s two-tight-end offense. His absence puts more responsibility on Colston Loveland and rookie Sam Roush, while quarterback Caleb Williams said he would support Kmet through his recovery.
