Auburn Seeks Response After LSU Loss

Auburn fell 38-17 to LSU, with coach Alex Golesh identifying poor offensive-line play and an ineffective ground game as central problems: the Tigers managed 67 rushing yards, allowed seven sacks and struggled to convert on fourth down. LSU’s pressure disrupted quarterback Byrum Brown, and Auburn’s defense allowed 522 yards as the game got away in the second quarter; defensive coordinator DJ Durkin called for a return to fundamentals. Golesh said Auburn must review its performance and respond ahead of a road game against No. 12 Ole Miss, which is also coming off a loss and is expected to be without starting running back Kewan Lacy. Golesh said left tackle Jacob Strand, who was injured against LSU, should be fine, while offensive lineman Tai Buster is still working toward full participation. Auburn is 4-3 overall and 2-3 in SEC play.
