Larkin Sits as Red Wings Trade Talks Intensify

Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin will miss Thursday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and interim general manager Shawn Horcoff is expected to address the situation. The reason for his absence has not been officially clarified; one report says he is not injured, while speculation has linked the scratch to trade discussions. Larkin requested a trade over the summer and lost the captaincy after returning to the team. Reports say trade talks have intensified, though a deal is not necessarily imminent, as Detroit continues assessing destinations and offers; Montreal and Boston have been discussed, but there is no confirmed offer, and Larkin has not approved Montreal as a destination.
