Bakambu's Stoppage-Time Penalty Earns San Diego 2-2 Draw

Cédric Bakambu scored twice in the second half, including a penalty in the sixth minute of stoppage time, as San Diego FC rallied for a 2-2 draw with the Seattle Sounders. Seattle had taken a 2-0 lead through Dejan Joveljić and Sebastián Gómez, but Bakambu first scored off a rebound after Andrew Thomas saved Anders Dreyer’s penalty, then converted a late spot kick after a foul in the box. The result extended San Diego’s unbeaten run to three matches, though it remained 12th in the Western Conference, five points below the ninth-place playoff spot with three games left; Seattle stayed seventh and is winless in three straight.
