Kyle Larson Wins Talladega in Overtime
Kyle Larson won the YellaWood 500 at Talladega in overtime, beating Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron by 0.041 seconds for his first superspeedway victory and 35th career Cup Series win. The win was Larson’s third of the Chase and extended his championship lead to 73 points with two races remaining. The race featured 41 lead changes and two major crashes; a 15-car wreck sent Joey Logano’s car airborne and onto its roof, but he climbed out safely. The crashes left 14 drivers unable to finish and knocked playoff contenders Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick out of title contention.
