Alabama Dismisses Dre Kirkpatrick After Arrest

Alabama dismissed defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor harassing communications and doxing. Court documents allege he sent a profane message to a University of Alabama police officer who had previously arrested him and posted a photo of the officer’s family on Facebook with the caption “Dis him?” Coach Kalen DeBoer said Kirkpatrick did not meet the standards expected of the team. Kirkpatrick had also been suspended indefinitely the previous season after facing separate charges, including reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police and speeding.
