Nadal to play first U.S. event since retirement at Las Vegas exhibition

Rafael Nadal is set to return to U.S. tennis courts for the MGM Slam exhibition in Las Vegas, his first U.S. appearance since retiring. The event is scheduled for late February at T-Mobile Arena, shortly before the Indian Wells tournament; reports differ on whether it will take place Feb. 27 or 28. Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, said he is looking forward to competing without the pressures of the professional tour while retaining his passion for tennis. Organizers have not yet announced the other players or the match format.
