White Sox End Schriffen’s Three-Season TV Run, Begin Search

The Chicago White Sox will not extend John Schriffen’s contract, ending his three-season run as the team’s lead television play-by-play announcer. Schriffen took over before the 2024 season after Jason Benetti left for the Detroit Tigers, and the Sox said they will immediately begin a national search for his replacement. The team praised Schriffen’s professionalism, energy and connection with fans, while saying it was time to evaluate the direction of its broadcasts. Radio announcers Len Kasper and Darrin Jackson are expected to remain in place.
