Heyward Responds to Browns Ahead of Week 8 Rematch

The 5-2 Browns and Steelers face a consequential Week 8 rematch Sunday, with the winner taking sole possession of first place in the AFC North. Cleveland holds the tiebreaker after beating Pittsburgh 27-24 in their first meeting. Browns pass rusher Jared Verse accused Pittsburgh of playing dirty and said Cleveland was ready to dominate; Steelers captain Cam Heyward countered that double-teams, chips and protection adjustments are normal parts of football, adding that Verse’s comments would be addressed on the field. Heyward also brushed off comments from former Browns player Hanford Dixon, saying outside talk would not motivate him. He praised Cleveland’s recent play and said its offense and defense extend beyond its prominent stars.
