Beasley Agrees to Plead Guilty in Federal Sports Gambling Case
Former NBA guard Malik Beasley has agreed to plead guilty in a federal sports-gambling case, with the plea scheduled for Dec. 9 in Brooklyn; the charges covered by the agreement and any proposed sentence have not been disclosed. Prosecutors allege Beasley manipulated his performance during four Milwaukee Bucks games in the 2023-24 season to help bettors win wagers on his statistics, after he accumulated gambling debts. Former teammate Ed Davis is also charged and has pleaded not guilty. Beasley initially pleaded not guilty, and the case has clouded his basketball future after a strong 2024-25 season with Detroit; he is among several people charged in a broader crackdown on illegal sports betting.
