Kraken Beat Maple Leafs 5-4 on Late Montour Goal
Brandon Montour scored with 34 seconds remaining to give the Seattle Kraken a 5-4 win over Toronto after Auston Matthews tied the game for the Maple Leafs with 1:30 left. Toronto rookie Gavin McKenna recorded two power-play goals and an assist, while Chandler Stephenson, Ryker Evans, Berkly Catton and Josh Mahura also scored for Seattle, which improved to 8-4-1. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 12 of 17 shots and had a 3.29 goals-against average and .885 save percentage through 10 starts; Matthews attributed the result to team breakdowns, while Bobrovsky said he would stay focused and keep working. The loss left Toronto at 7-6-2 after a split in Alberta, including a win over Edmonton and a loss to Calgary.
