Texans place leading receiver Noel on injured reserve, claim Demercado
The Houston Texans placed wide receiver Jaylin Noel on injured reserve after he suffered turf toe against the New York Giants. Noel, a second-year player who leads Houston with 331 receiving yards and has two touchdowns, will miss at least four games; reports say he is expected to miss the rest of the season and may need surgery. His absence further thins a receiving group already without injured wideout Jayden Higgins, while Tank Dell, Marvin Harrison Jr. and other receivers could take on larger roles. Houston filled Noel’s roster spot by claiming running back Emari Demercado off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.
