Colin Simmons Ruled Out Against Mississippi State

Texas ruled out star edge rusher Colin Simmons for its game against Mississippi State after he was downgraded from questionable to doubtful. Simmons suffered a high-ankle sprain against Florida, leads the FBS with 10.5 sacks and could return for Texas’ upcoming games against Missouri or LSU. Starting left tackle Trevor Goosby is out for the season with a knee injury, while running back Hollywood Smothers and receiver Cam Coleman are listed as probable. Mississippi State listed safety Isaac Smith and left guard DJ Chester as questionable, and quarterback Kamario Taylor as out for the season.
