Chargers Say Khalil Mack Won’t Be Traded
The 6-2 Chicago Bears acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, prompting calls to prioritize cornerback help over another pass rusher before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Khalil Mack remains a potential reunion target, but the Chargers say they do not intend to trade him, and coach Jim Harbaugh says Mack wants to stay in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old could still help a contender, and Chicago is among the teams reportedly interested, though his contract expires after the season and a deal could require significant draft capital. Philadelphia cornerback Riq Woolen and veteran cornerback Jackson have been proposed as secondary targets, while analysts differ on Woolen’s value and the Eagles’ asking price; Chicago may also consider other pass rushers or a veteran safety. Cleveland has also been urged to pursue Mack.
