ESPN College GameDay Returns to Bloomington

ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast from Showalter Fountain at Indiana University in Bloomington on Oct. 31, ahead of No. 4 Indiana’s game against Minnesota. Host Rece Davis and analysts Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit were joined by Indiana coach Curt Cignetti, with former Hoosier basketball star Isiah Thomas as guest picker. Hundreds of fans gathered before sunrise as the show highlighted Indiana’s 7-1 start and recent success under Cignetti; Halloween costumes, a birthday serenade and a field-goal challenge added to the campus atmosphere. ESPN will take the program to Notre Dame on Nov. 7 for the No. 6 Fighting Irish’s matchup with No. 1 Miami, marking Notre Dame’s 13th time hosting; the game carries playoff implications and echoes last season’s controversy over the teams’ CFP rankings.
