Nebraska QB Colandrea signs first known program extension for 2027
Nebraska quarterback Anthony Colandrea has signed a contract extension to return for the 2027 season, his final year of eligibility under the NCAA’s five-year rule. The deal is the first known player contract extension in Nebraska program history and secures a steady starter amid college football’s growing use of NIL and revenue-sharing agreements. Coach Matt Rhule had said SEC programs were contacting Colandrea ahead of the winter transfer portal; Colandrea has thrown for 1,570 yards and 14 touchdowns this season.
