Bruins Rally Past Blackhawks 5-4 in Overtime
The Boston Bruins rallied from a 4-2 third-period deficit to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 in overtime at TD Garden, snapping a two-game losing streak and extending their home winning streak to five games. Mason Lohrei cut Chicago’s lead, and Morgan Geekie tied the game with 12 seconds left in regulation before Elias Lindholm scored 2:32 into overtime off a Charlie McAvoy pass. David Pastrnak, Casey Mittelstadt, Lohrei and Geekie also scored for Boston; Pastrnak’s goal was his 428th as a Bruin, moving him into sole possession of third place on the franchise’s all-time scoring list. Anton Frondell scored twice for Chicago, Connor Bedard added a goal and an assist, and Patrick Kane recorded his 900th career assist on Frondell’s opening goal. Chicago had a season-high 41 shots, but the loss left the Blackhawks 4-9-1 and winless on the road.
