Novak's finish with that eagle and three birdies was clutch, should be tough to catch at minus fourteen.

Andrew Novak shot a 10-under 61 Friday to take a three-shot lead at the halfway point of the VidantaWorld Mexico Open, matching his lowest PGA Tour round. After an eagle on the 13th, he gained ground on Ben Griffin when Griffin found water on the 15th and Novak made birdie, then closed with another birdie to reach 14 under. Griffin and 20-year-old BYU sophomore Kihei Akina were among five players tied for second; Novak said there was still plenty of golf left and credited improved putting for turning strong play into better results. Tony Finau missed the cut by one stroke, while Wyndham Clark also failed to make the weekend.

Ben Griffin has been consistent all week, might still make a run if Novak cools off tomorrow.

Trump says judge responsible if injuries occur at East Potomac Golf Links

President Donald Trump said Judge Ana Reyes would be responsible if anyone is injured or killed at Washington’s East Potomac Golf Course, arguing that its deteriorating facilities and hazardous conditions require renovation. Reyes has blocked further work while a legal challenge proceeds, after the administration removed hundreds of trees without advance notice; Trump’s claims about safety incidents have not been independently substantiated in the reports.
