Pregnant Detroit Forward Curl-Salemme to Miss PWHL Season
U.S. Olympian Britta Curl-Salemme announced she is pregnant and will miss PWHL Detroit’s inaugural season, despite signing a three-year contract with the expansion team in June. The 26-year-old forward spent her first two professional seasons with Minnesota, winning the 2025 Walter Cup, and ranked third in the league last season with 29 points. Detroit general manager Manon Rheaume congratulated Curl-Salemme and said the team will support her as she focuses on her growing family. Curl-Salemme is the second member of the U.S. team that won Olympic gold in Milan Cortina to announce a pregnancy, following Minnesota captain Kendall Coyne Schofield.
