Steichen Keeps Jones as Colts’ Starter
The Indianapolis Colts fell to 2-6 after a 42-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, their fourth straight defeat. Coach Shane Steichen criticized the team’s performance and effort and said he would evaluate every position, but confirmed Daniel Jones will remain the starting quarterback for Week 9 against Dallas, saying Jones gives the team its best chance to win. Jones threw for 144 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions before being briefly replaced by Anthony Richardson; he has committed 12 turnovers this season. The loss came amid major organizational changes, including the recent firing of general manager Chris Ballard and trades of Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
