Tennessee routs Duquesne 109-62 in season opener
Tennessee opened its 2026-27 women’s basketball season with a 109-62 win over Duquesne, building a 51-36 halftime lead and pulling away further after the break. Kaylene Smikle led the Lady Vols’ explosive start, scoring 23 points in the first half and making five 3-pointers, while Jada Eads also provided a key scoring threat. Duquesne’s Carla Viegas led the Dukes with 13 points and kept attacking from beyond the arc, but Tennessee’s scoring depth—including contributions from Aaliyah Moore and Gabby Minus—helped secure the decisive victory.
