Bears LT Braxton Jones Out for 2026 Season
Chicago Bears left tackle Braxton Jones had surgery Tuesday to repair a partially torn right patellar tendon and will miss the rest of the 2026 season. Injured in Week 3 after a knee injury during training camp, Jones had hoped rehabilitation would allow him to return; he had started the season’s first three games and was playing well. Theo Benedet has been starting at left tackle but may have injured his shoulder in the Week 8 win over Seattle, while Ozzy Trapilo is working back from injury and has seen limited action, potentially leaving the Bears short at the position. Jones is expected to be ready for football activities by late spring and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March.
