Grizzlies Sign Saunders, Waive Cooper
The Memphis Grizzlies signed rookie guard Richie Saunders, their No. 32 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, to a two-way contract and waived center Carson Cooper. Saunders is recovering from a torn right ACL suffered in February but has been cleared to increase his on-court activity and can practice with the team. The former BYU player averaged 18 points per game last season and earned All-Big 12 honors. Cooper appeared in one game for Memphis; his departure leaves three listed centers, one of whom is sidelined by injury.
