Rubio Adviser Lewin Leaves State Department Policy Chief Role
Jeremy Lewin, 29, is leaving his role as the State Department’s director of policy planning after nearly two years to return to the private sector. A close adviser to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, he helped carry out the Trump administration’s foreign policy and oversee changes to foreign assistance after joining the government through Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative. His work included policy toward Venezuela and Cuba, and he said he plans to continue supporting the administration as a private citizen.
