States Plan Meetings on Major Road Projects
Transportation agencies and local governments are inviting the public or project stakeholders to meetings about planned road and bridge improvements in Connecticut, Louisiana, Indiana and Wisconsin. Connecticut DOT will hold a virtual meeting Dec. 3 on replacing the Route 193 bridge over I-395 in Thompson, a project expected to cost about $6 million, with construction anticipated in spring 2029; the agency is also presenting plans to rehabilitate two Route 11 bridges over the Eightmile River in Salem. In Ascension Parish, Louisiana, officials will discuss updated plans for widening Duplessis Road between Airline Highway and La. 73 and hear stakeholder feedback. Fort Wayne’s meeting will cover a proposed Airport Expressway overpass to remove a railroad crossing, aiming to improve safety and reduce train-related traffic delays and flooding closures. Wisconsin DOT will present plans for a five-mile US 53 project in La Crosse County, including potential impacts at Sandalwood Park.
