Stephen Garcia Has No Evidence of Disease After Cancer Surgery

Former South Carolina quarterback Stephen Garcia underwent surgery for stage IV colorectal cancer, and his wife, Masha, said surgeons removed all visible cancer in a complete resection, leaving him with no evidence of disease. She cautioned that he is not officially cancer-free and will need continued surveillance. Garcia, 38, was diagnosed earlier this year and underwent chemotherapy and radiation before surgery; his family has also launched a foundation to support cancer patients and promote early detection.
