Stephen Wang ordained as sixth bishop of Arundel and Brighton
Stephen Wang was ordained Oct. 19 as the sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton at Arundel Cathedral, in a ceremony attended by clergy and parishioners from across the diocese and representatives of other faith communities. Pope Leo XIV appointed Wang to the role in July; he succeeds Richard Moth, who became Archbishop of Westminster. Wang previously served for five years as rector of the Venerable English College in Rome and founded Sycamore, a Catholic faith-formation program used internationally. His episcopal motto, drawn from St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians, is “speak the truth in love.”
