STMicro Q3 profit nearly doubles, lifts 2026 data-center forecast
STMicroelectronics reported third-quarter operating income of $429 million, nearly double the year-earlier level and above analysts’ expectations, as stronger sales of communications equipment, computer peripherals and personal electronics joined demand from AI data centers and satellite communications. The chipmaker forecast fourth-quarter revenue of about $4.15 billion, ahead of analysts’ estimates, and expects gross margin to rise to roughly 39% from 37.3% in the third quarter; CEO Jean-Marc Chery said demand remained above supply. STMicro also raised its 2026 data-center revenue forecast to about $1.3 billion from more than $1 billion, while retaining its goal of well over $2 billion in 2027.
