Southern California’s political views vary within the region: coastal and densely populated areas tend to be more liberal, while rural and inland communities are more conservative, with Trump approval notably higher in Kern and eastern San Bernardino counties than across most of the region. Los Angeles voters are also being asked to consider a city charter amendment that would align campaign-finance rules for LAUSD school board elections with those for mayoral contests, while largely removing duplicative language.
