Sunny Weather Expected, River Flood Warnings Persist
Phoenix-area temperatures are expected to rise from the upper 70s into the low 80s over the weekend, with mostly sunny, dry conditions and breezy northeast winds. A brief disturbance could bring light rain to parts of eastern Arizona or the mountains Friday, while the Valley is expected to remain dry. Flooding remains a concern along the Salt and Gila rivers and in parts of the high country because of upstream water releases and recent rainfall. Forecasters are also watching for a possible weather system and increased rain chances late next week, though that outlook remains uncertain.
