Survey Finds Younger Adults More Comfortable Discussing Money Than Older Generations
A 2026 survey found that younger adults are more comfortable discussing money with family and friends than older generations: 72% of adults under 30 said they were comfortable, compared with 56% of Millennials, 47% of Gen Xers and 31% of Boomers. Experts attribute the gap in part to younger people’s financial pressures and greater openness shaped by social media. Holiday conversations about money can help families share experience and reduce shame or anxiety, provided the subject is raised sensitively.
