Swanwick Takes Two-Shot Lead in Asia-Pacific Amateur
New Zealand’s Zack Swanwick surged from a difficult opening day to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at Te Arai Links, shooting a 4-under 67 for a seven-under total. Defending champion Fifa Laopakdee, who had led since the first round, faltered on the back nine and finished tied for second with New Zealand’s Cooper Moore; Japan’s Kaito Sato was another two shots back. The winner earns invitations to the 2027 Masters and the Open Championship, giving Swanwick a chance to become the first New Zealander to win the tournament.
