Syracuse beats Central Connecticut 102-49

Syracuse routed Central Connecticut State 102-49, improving to 2-0 after sustaining its intensity through the second half. Gavin Doty led the Orange with 18 points, while freshman Mark Morano scored 16 and made four 3-pointers; two other Syracuse players also reached double figures. The Orange’s offense was notably more connected, recording 20 assists, and its defense helped build a commanding lead that grew after halftime. Coach Gerry McNamara and players praised the team’s unselfish passing and improved discipline after a less convincing season opener. Syracuse next faces Indiana on Monday in its first road game of the season.
