Syracuse, ETSU Plan Halloween Helmet Debuts

Syracuse will debut white football helmets featuring Otto the Orange on both sides for its Halloween matchup with SMU, marking the first time the mascot has appeared on the team’s helmets. The helmets have blue-and-orange center stripes, while Syracuse has not officially confirmed the full uniform combination. Otto has represented Syracuse since the 1980s, became the university’s official mascot in 1995, and was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2023. The special design adds a festive touch to a matchup that follows Syracuse’s narrow win over North Carolina, which snapped an 11-game ACC losing streak.
