Taliesin West Closes After Wind-Blown Debris Kills Visitor
Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s former home and studio in Scottsdale, Arizona, has closed to the public until further notice after visitor Rogério Renato Mateucci, rector of Brazil’s Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, was killed during a walking tour on Oct. 16. Authorities said strong winds dislodged roofing material that struck Mateucci; no other injuries were reported, and the death is being treated as weather-related. The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation expressed condolences and said it would share no further details while officials complete their work.
