Gunman drove from Orlando irate over $2,500 Citibank debt, sheriff says
Authorities say Jacob Pearson, 35, drove from Orlando to a Citibank campus in Tampa and opened fire after becoming angry over a court summons related to about $2,500 in debt. Before the shooting, he allegedly threatened an attorney’s office handling the collection; the office alerted bank security and police, who were unable to locate him before he left home. Pearson crashed through a gate, fatally shot employee Leanne Selman, and entered a cafeteria, where a Citibank security guard shot and killed him. Officials credited the guard’s response with preventing further casualties.
