Tampa Strip-Club King Joe Redner Dies at 86
Joe Redner, the longtime Tampa businessman known as the “Strip Club King” and founder of the Mons Venus club, has died at 86. His daughter Joy Lynn Redner said he died peacefully in his sleep. Redner became a prominent and often controversial figure in Tampa through legal battles over adult-entertainment regulations and property rights, as well as his involvement in local politics. He also advocated for medical marijuana and LGBTQ rights. Mons Venus was sold in 2025, though Redner retained ownership of the property.
