Taylor Swift walks on during Dakota Johnson’s SNL monologue

Taylor Swift walked onstage during Dakota Johnson’s opening monologue the second Johnson called her “my literal therapist.”
“I’m not your therapist, actually. You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some,” Swift said. She kept going: “You flop on my couch and overshare, and every so often I just say, ‘Damn, that’s crazy.’” Johnson shot back, “Yeah, well I have manners!” When the bit reached the late hour Johnson chimed “Sleepover, yay!” Swift finished it: “And then I give you a Pedialyte and my security drives you home.”
The show Saturday, October 3, 2026, from Studio 8H on NBC, with Johnson hosting for the third time on the eve of her 37th birthday and Turnstile as musical guest. Earlier Johnson had said, “What else has happened since the last time I hosted? Well, I went through two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians.” Her Cleveland joke drew a “Woo-woo!” from Swift, a nod to Travis Kelce, Swift’s husband, who is from the Cleveland area.
The cameo reunited the pair who co-starred in the “Patient Zero” music video Swift directed, alongside Colin Farrell. That video premiered at the MTV VMAs; earlier that Saturday Swift released an expanded eight-minute version exclusively on Apple Music. The song is from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, released September 25, 2026, with four new tracks. It was Swift’s first SNL on-screen appearance since October 2023, when she introduced Ice Spice; she hosted once in 2009 and was musical guest in 2009, 2017, 2019 and 2021.
During the goodnights Swift returned with a blue and white birthday cake. “It’s her birthday!” she said.
