OpenAI launches ChatGPT for Financial Services aimed at Wall Street tasks
OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized enterprise product aimed at investment banking and equity research teams. Powered by the GPT-6 Astra model, it can conduct company research, analyze financial data, perform compliance-related checks, and generate pitchbooks and PowerPoint presentations. Developed with Morgan Stanley and Evercore, the service connects to sources including LSEG, Daloopa, and PitchBook, while offering citation tools, chart verification, and controls to protect confidential deal information. Access is initially limited to eligible institutions with enterprise accounts, positioning the product as a direct competitor to Anthropic’s finance-focused Claude offering. OpenAI says the tool could help analysts work faster, though its ability to automate traditionally junior-banker tasks raises questions about future hiring and staffing levels.
