Apple Unveils Smart Home Lineup, Excludes EU HomeView

Apple has unveiled the Apple Home Collection, a smart-home lineup developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, centered on the $299 HomeView, a 7-inch Siri-powered display designed to control devices and recognize nearby people. The collection includes security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, thermostats and temperature sensors, alongside an updated Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini; the products work with iPhone and through Apple’s Home app without separate apps or accounts, and Apple says Home data is end-to-end encrypted. Cameras offer up to 2.5K video, iCloud+ event storage, Apple Intelligence video summaries and natural-language search, with some camera features requiring iCloud+; the LG deadbolt can unlock as a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch approaches and also supports keypad and physical-key access. U.S. prices for the collection range from $39.95 to $399.95, and availability is expected to begin in December, with some devices arriving in early 2027. HomeView will not be sold in the EU because Siri AI is unavailable there under current regulatory conditions.
