Nvidia Unveils Modular AI Factories, Promises 14-Day Deployment

Nvidia unveiled DSX POD, a modular, container-sized reference design for Vera Rubin AI data centers, with systems integrated and tested before delivery and then connected to a prepared site’s power, cooling and networking. Nvidia says the approach could reduce deployment time from about six months to 14 days, allowing AI workloads to run while permanent facilities are still being built. The broader DSX platform is designed to reduce cooling-water use by up to 100% and power use by up to 30% for the same output; Nvidia estimates dry-cooler systems at a 2-gigawatt scale could save 54 million liters of water daily, though extreme heat may require additional cooling. DSX software can manage power use, adapt workloads to grid conditions, and simulate and operate AI-factory infrastructure, while additional products are intended to address power-availability constraints. Nvidia and its partners plan to deliver facilities worldwide beginning in early 2027, and European cloud and infrastructure companies are also adopting DSX technologies.
