Teen Charged in Fatal Las Cruces Hit-and-Run

A teenager in Las Cruces was arrested and charged with first-degree murder with a depraved state of mind and aggravated battery after allegedly striking another teen with a vehicle, who later died at a hospital. Investigators say the teens had arranged to meet at the Dove Canyon Trailer Park after a dispute; during a verbal altercation, one teen reportedly stood in front of a vehicle as its driver attempted to leave. Authorities have not released the teens’ identities because they are minors, and the investigation is ongoing.
