Temporal valuation more than doubles to $12.55 billion after $550 million round

Temporal raised $550 million in a Series E funding round that valued the Seattle-based company at $12.55 billion, more than doubling its roughly $5 billion valuation from February. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Wellington Management, Goldman Sachs Alternatives' Growth Equity business and Tiger Global, with participation from new and returning investors. Founded in 2019, Temporal builds an open-source durable-execution platform that helps applications and AI agents preserve state and recover from failures. Temporal Cloud serves more than 4,300 paying customers, including OpenAI, Snap, NVIDIA, Netflix and JPMorgan Chase. The company said its annualized revenue run rate has surpassed $250 million, up more than 200% year over year; Finimize describes that increase as more than tripling and calculates the $12.55 billion valuation at roughly 50 times the $250 million run rate. The platform processed more than 1.9 trillion actions in August. Funding is slated for global expansion, platform reliability, security and research, infrastructure scale, and growth of developer and enterprise teams.
