The Knot agrees to acquire rival Zola
The Knot Worldwide has agreed to acquire wedding-planning rival Zola, expanding its portfolio to 14 brands and bringing together platforms that offer wedding websites, registries, planning tools and connections to vendors. Zola is expected to continue operating as a standalone brand, with its co-CEOs remaining in leadership after the deal closes. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including any required regulatory approvals. The deal comes as The Knot faces criticism and scrutiny over its treatment of small wedding vendors; Zola has told vendors it intends to preserve continuity and provide advance notice of changes.
