Thomson Reuters Profit Falls 20%, Revenue Rises 10%
Thomson Reuters reported third-quarter net income of $339 million, down from $423 million a year earlier, while revenue rose about 10% to $1.83 billion. The earnings decline reflected a prior-year gain from an asset sale and higher software amortization; adjusted earnings per share increased to 81 cents. Growth came across its main businesses, with revenue up in Legal Professionals, Corporates, Tax, Audit & Accounting, and Reuters news. The company completed the sale of a 51% stake in its global print business to KKR for about $500 million, forming the Westbridge Print joint venture. Excluding the print business, Thomson Reuters forecast 2026 revenue growth of roughly 9.5% and organic revenue growth of 8.5% to 9%.
