Three Arrested in Killing of Gulfport 15-Year-Old

Three people were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Jonte Payton in Gulfport, Mississippi. Police say the shooting happened during an altercation following an alleged botched robbery early Saturday in the 200 block of Commerce Street. Investigators used surveillance footage to identify a suspected vehicle, which officers found at Cypress Lane Apartments; two suspects were arrested there, while another later turned himself in. Two suspects face capital murder and armed robbery charges, and the third is charged with accessory after the fact.
