Bridges reopen early in Binghamton and after wind closure elsewhere
Several bridges have reopened or are preparing to reopen after construction or temporary closures. In Binghamton, the State Street Bridge’s northbound lane reopened ahead of schedule with changed traffic patterns as part of a larger gateway project. Thunder Bay officials expect the Pacific Avenue overpass to reopen for winter use once weather-dependent finishing work is complete; major repairs are done, with further rehabilitation planned for 2027. Duluth’s pedestrian bridge over Interstate 35 is scheduled to reopen with temporary fencing until its decorative railing is installed in spring. The M48 Severn Bridge reopened in both directions after strong winds forced a closure, while Edmonton’s Beverly Bridge has fully reopened following rehabilitation, with minor work and possible lane closures still expected in 2027.
