Three Crashes in Texas, North Carolina Injure 12
A two-vehicle crash near State Highway 359 and Oil Patch Road in east Laredo around midnight on Halloween left five people critically injured. Three women in their 20s and two 18-year-old men were taken to local hospitals; one woman was later transferred to a San Antonio hospital, and two men had to be freed from a vehicle with rescue tools. A preliminary account says one car was turning onto the highway when it collided with an eastbound vehicle, which left the road and struck a tree; witnesses alleged the eastbound car was speeding with its headlights off. The Laredo Police Department’s crash team is investigating, and the cause has not been determined.
