Miyu Yamashita opened the TOTO Japan Classic with a bogey-free 6-under 66, sharing the first-round lead with fellow Japanese golfers Aki Iwai and Sayaka Takahashi. Fresh off her Maybank Championship victory in Malaysia, Yamashita is seeking back-to-back wins. The trio leads a group of three players by one stroke, while defending champion Nasa Hataoka is two shots back after a 68. The tournament is the final stop of the LPGA’s late-season Asian swing.

He accepted the ruling, which hurt his bid for a record eighth Race to Dubai title; Francesco Laporta led the tournament with a 62.
